We are home!

After a LONGGGGG day, we are back! 4 1/2 hours to Ikea, 4 1/2 hours in Ikea, and then 4 1/2 hours home from Ikea...it makes for a long day!

The drive was great! Mike too the wheel and I took to my book (the second of the Twilight Series, New Moon). After sitting in a bit of traffic at the end of our trip, I spotted the Ikea sign!Ahhh....MECCA (I mean, Ikea)!!!I don't think that I have ever been so excited to shop before! I had never been to Ikea and it wasn't exactly how I pictured it!It was about 1:00 and we were ready for lunch so we first hit up their restaurant. Yes, restaurant! Chicken Caesar salad and Swedish Meatballs, anyone?Next, we hit the the showrooms. All of the furniture was set up like it would in real rooms. We got a lot of inspiration from the showrooms and had to write down the items we wanted so when we went downstairs, we could pick them up!After about 2 hours, we headed downstairs to the actual store and warehouse section. This is where we started to get a little crazy. It is completely overwhelming! There are so many items and so many choices. I think that we were in the frame section about 45 minutes (which we did not even buy anything) and in the lighting section for an hour (which we did buy many things...check out the next post for pictures). After picking up our bedroom furniture and bookshelf in the warehouse, it was time to checkout! I think we did well!Seriously, Ikea is such a great deal! We got so much stuff for $500! Why won't they just build one in St. Louis?

Have you ever gone to IKEA? Was it everything you always wished it would be?

Aww, Ikea... I love it! C's parents live in Chicago, so almost every time we visit them, we go! They have such great stuff. I can't wait to see what you guys got!

I've never been to IKEA, but your post makes me want to go! I can't believe you guys did it all in one day--it's about that far to Memphis (where we went this weekend), but we were a bunch of babies and drove down Friday night to get a hotel. :)

I love IKEA! I've been to the Atlanta one and the Hamburg, Germany one. I could spend the whole day there. :-)
