More IKEA goodies!
The main reason for our IKEA trip was a dresser that matched Mike's bedroom furniture. It costs $150 and the shipping was going to cost $250. No way! Here is a picture of it assembled in our bedroom :)We also decided that we wanted to get a bookshelf for the basement. Instead of setting it up vertically, we decided that we like the vertical look. That way, he can hang his posters above it.
Once we got home, we were inspired! Sunday, after hitting some balls at the driving range, we headed over to Garden Ridge. We picked up a cute little tan, micro suede couch and a couple of huge hurricanes (the Crate and Barrel ones are so expensive).
(The white glasses are also from IKEA. Just put that white candle in as a sample. We are going to put one of those HUGE 3-wick candles soon!)
Next, on to Target to pick up some random items and a large clock for the living room!I am hosting a shower next weekend and then our housewarming party is in a month. Nothing like a couple of parties to throw our decorating butts into gear! Our little house is finally becoming a home!
i LOVE that shelf- i have the same one! it is sitting in our home horizontally too. can you believe that C&B has a very similar one for like $700!?
Everything looks great! Your house is really coming together, Lauren! I wish we had an IKEA here, too. Hopefully we'll get one eventually, since we did get a Maggiano's, Crate and Barrel, and Trader Joe's. I used to love to go to those places (although C&B is usually out of my price range) when I went up to Chicago. Unfortunately, I went to IKEA when I was living in my apartment and didn't have room for much more. I'm sure there are lots of things I would want to buy now!
You really made some great purchases!!
gah, makes me want to go even more now. we are going up near there for a wedding next weekend, and im tring to convince blake that we NEED to go!
I love Ikea and I live by both in Illinois! I love how the bookshelf looks vertically! Great job!! :)
