Escort cards...

My fiance created yet another amazing part of our reception decor. He made little cards that fit into baby envelopes that will tell people what tables they will be seated for dinner. Our planner Sabrina gave us the idea after she created a board that she used at Ellen's wedding. I can't wait to see what it looks like when it is all finished!!!

Out of Town Bags

My mom is delivering the Out-of-Town Bags to the hotels today! I can't believe that people are in town for MY WEDDING! YAY!!!

Aren't they so cute?! My sister and mom worked on them last night and they look GREAT! Mike (of course) created the inserts for the front of the bags!

WEATHER!

YAY...the St. Louis forecast calls for sunny skies on Sunday!

However, the Riviera Maya forecast calls for rain, rain, and more rain ALL next week :(
We have by Friday to decide if we want to cancel or not. If we cancel, we can chose a different date to come or we can chose a different destination. I am already off work and we NEED to go on a vacation so I think we are going to go to Cabo San Lucas. We can stay at the Riu Hotel...it seems nice. Nothing compared to El Dorado Seaside Suites though. I am so bummed :(

But I know, I know...we are going to have fun no matter what. Yada yada yada... I really was looking forward to our Jacuzzi swim-up suite...Sadly, we will probably never get to go to Riviera Maya. Mike mentioned tonight...there are so many places in the world that we want to visit. We probably won't go back to Mexico again...or at least not for a long time :( Adios, El Dorado....adios!

Programs....

Did I mention that we finished our programs last week?! I recruited my sister, my mom, and my mom's friend, Terri. My dad actually helped too but he was downstairs when I took the picture! (doesn't the living room look good!!!)
I put the papers in order, mike punched holes in the papers, and the ladies tied the ribbons. The ending product was AMAZING! Thanks for all of your help, ladies (and gentlemen)!

Garage Sale

When I was younger, I would LOVE when my parents held garage sales. I remember them working in the garage, putting price tags on all of our items, and organizing everything into different sections. Mike and I didn't really take the organizing path.

At about 9 PM on Friday night, we started pricing items for our Saturday garage sale. We finished working at about midnight and woke up the next morning at 7.

The street was already full of ready buyers and driveways full of tables, racks, and rows of goods! Here is our little garage/driveway sale...Look at the cute little salesman :)Our goal was to sell as much as we could and make at least $30. We made $30 by 9:00 am! Our ending total was $95 and we would say that our first garage sale was a success! We got rid of all of Mike's old pots and pans, plates, silverware, and glasses. Seriously, it really amazes me how people buy other peoples' old crap. Especially when it is crappy crap! But I guess the saying is true, "One man's trash is another man's treasure!"

Waffles!

We got to test out our new waffle maker on Sunday morning! They were so so so yummy! And I was so proud of myself that I cooked twice last week! (I love how breakfast is covering all of my wedding to-do lists!)

Panic Attacks

My sister looked up "panic attacks" on WebMD and forwarded me the symptoms...

Panic Attack Symptoms

Panic attacks are sudden feelings of terror that strike without warning. These episodes can occur at any time, even during sleep. A person experiencing a panic attack may believe that he or she is having a heart attack or that death is imminent. The fear and terror that a person experiences during a panic attack are not in proportion to the true situation and may be unrelated to what is happening around them. Most people with panic attacks experience several of the following symptoms:

  • "Racing" heart
  • Feeling weak, faint, or dizzy
  • Tingling or numbness in the hands and fingers
  • Sense of terror, of impending doom or death
  • Feeling sweaty or having chills
  • Chest pains
  • Breathing difficulties
  • Feeling a loss of control
Seriously...that summary COMPLETELY described what happened to me! The last bullet was the hardest for me because I was in class with my 24 students. It was truly a scary feeling to have lost control and all I could think was "I don't want to pass out and/or die in front of my kids." Thankfully that didn't happen.

The nurse at school told me that I should go home after work, relax, and get to sleep early. Instead, I had my final appointment at my dress shop and I got to take home my dress. Then, I have to get home, change, and go to temple where my rabbi gave Mike and I a wedding blessing. THEN...I got to come home and get organized for our garage sale tomorrow morning (that begins at 8:00 AM)! So much for relaxing and sleeping in :( Good night!

And a post isn't any good without a picture!

Something strange happened today...

I don't know if it is the stress, anxiety, lack of sleep, or maybe I caught a bug or something but something terrible happened to me today. I was teaching this afternoon when all of the sudden, I felt lightheaded. My vision got blurry, my legs felt weak, and I felt nauseous. It seriously scared me. Because I am crazy and neurotic, I immediately thought that I was having a brain aneurysm, stroke, or heart attack. I had to sit down and had a kid fill my water bottle. I sat for a while, ate some food, drank some water, but I still felt terrible. After Googling 'brain aneurysm' and 'pulmonary embolism,' I decided to head down to the nurse. Thankfully my kids were actively involved in the game 'latitude and longitude battleship.' She took my blood pressure and it was suddenly higher than usual. She thought that I might be having an anxiety attack. Of course, there are so many reasons that I could feel this way, but I immediately thought that I was going to die. Fast forward a few hours and I still don't feel well. My mom was sick yesterday so we think that we might have a flu bug or something. I am sure that the anxiety and lack of sleep aren't helping!

Clean, clean, clean...

I moved my stuff (bedroom furniture, clothes, everything else) in a couple of weeks ago and it looks like a tornado has flown through our small home. We decided that all of my boxes must be emptied and put away by Wednesday...and today is Tuesday. Why Wednesday? My mom and sister are coming over and we are going to assemble our programs!

So why is this a big deal? Well, you see...I am a hoarder. I hoard things. Everything. I can't throw anything away. Mike constantly says something along the lines of "I can't believe how much stuff you have." And that is what it is...stuff. It is driving me (us) crazy so and I have a feeling that most of it will end up in the trashcan by the end of tonight.

We are having a garage sale on Saturday so maybe we can sell some of it? Wish me luck!

Our babies?

You might remember an old post, "Maybe we should re-think this?" I went to a website, upload my picture and Mike's, and it created what our child could look like. And it wasn't pretty (click the above link if you dare...)!

I have seen a new site on some other blogs so I thought I would give it a try. Here is our first daughter...Hum...I am not seeing any common characteristics. At least the other site tried to use our features. I decided to give it another try and see what a boy would look like...A face only a mother could love? I don't think so....ew! Push that one back in!!! I had to try for another boy since this one was so ugly...Are we seeing any resemblance here? Or do they just give everyone the same babies?!?! And wait...that is a boy? Then I guess I should try for one more girl...Now that one is pretty cute! I still don't think it looks like us but oh well...it was fun! Go give it a try:)

I hope that the bald baby doesn't give you nightmares. I might have some :(

Our chandelier :)

I totally forgot to post a picture of our new chandelier. If you remember, we bought the house with a hideous, gold chandelier.Mike took the reins on this job and ordered a chandelier from Crate and Barrel. I know, I know...one of the bulbs is out! But isn't it neat looking?!? Definitely better than the hideous one before! Nice job, Mike :)

Our DIY weekend!

This weekend, Mike and I cranked out some of our final DIY projects! We printed and assembled our table numbers :) We printed out all of our program parts and they will be assembled on Wednesday. We worked on our Out-of-Town bags! We even started our escort cards. We picked up our menus that were copied at Kinko's too! Hopefully everything will be finished by this weekend. Here are some previews....WOO HOO! We are in the home stretch :)

The OMG moments...

They care coming now at a quicker rate. You know, the "Oh my God, I am getting married" moments! I think my first one came when I was listening to classical music from my string quartet and Canon in D came on. I got all teared up and thought, "OMG, I am getting married!" The next one happened as I dropped my Save the Dates in the mail. Again, "OMG, I am getting married." It happened in Spring when my mom and I stopped into the Jewel Box to measure the area for our chuppah. You guessed it..."OMG, I am getting married." Strangely enough, I didn't really feel it as I tried on dresses, met with our florist, or even when I stood in our reception room. I feel it at different times, at random places, and sometimes for no reason at all.

It happened again today. Someone asked me when I was getting married. My answer, "Next weekend." OMG...I am freaking getting married!

Final dress fitting

My final dress fitting last week actually won't be my last fitting. They are nervous that the stress of being back to work will make me lose weight and they want to see me again at the end of next week! AHHHH! I can't post pictures of me in the dress here because my darling reads the blog (HI MIKE!). However, I will show you a picture of my shoes under my dress :)Why do feet look so veiny in pictures? I swear they don't look like that in real life. Right, Kristal? We don't have veiny feet, do we?

I fell in love tonight....

with a dog! Mike and I celebrated my last official night of summer tonight with dinner and Bar Louie and snowcones from Tropical Moose. Standing behind us in line was the cutest little guy I have ever seen. He kind of looked like my parent's dog, Zoe! Zoe is a cockapoo and this doggie had the same body and face, but totally different fur. His name was Hershey and he was a YORKIE-POO. I almost died! He was so so soft and had straight hair unlike Zoe's curly hair! The moment I got home, I had to look up pictures of yorkie-poos. They are so freaking cute!Oh, I love them! They come in all different shapes, colors, and sizes too depending on how much yorkie or poo they get! AWWWWWW! We are going to get a dog next summer so I will just have to wait!

Oh...and the best thing about Hershey...he was adopted from the Humane Society! I seriously thought about stealing him for a minute. It was just a scrawny, 13 year old girl holding his leash. I should have done it...

Can't sleep...

I am not on my work sleeping schedule yet (which means bedtime at 10:30) and I can't fall asleep! I have been up to midnight most of the summer and I just can't get myself in bed at a decent hour. I am sure that I will be regretting this on Thursday and Friday when the kiddos are in the room! (oh, Nikki...I teach 5th grade)!

SOOOO....instead of sleeping, I will recap our Saturday! My friend, Bina, finally turned 25 and we celebrated in style! Remember Mike's 26th birthday? Oh yes...school bus + Fast Eddie's = amazing birthday party! Please notice the birthday badge! We all wore matching hats too!The outdoor patio is awesome and we had beautiful weather!Mike wore his shirt that (we think) has a picture of Bina on it! Seriously, it is frightening how much this Urban Outfitter shirt looks like her! (B, don't kill me that I put this up!)Some people think that Fast Eddie's is know for their cheap food and big beers. But did you know that their mudslides are the best? Seriously...delicious! You have to give them a try next time you go :)

Back to School

Where did this summer go? Looking back at the summer, I can say that my decision to not work and not take masters classes was the best I could have made. It was so relaxing, I was able to travel, and most importantly, I was able to plan my wedding with less stress than normal.

My mom and I are best friends. We are so much alike but at times, we drive each other crazy. I would definitely say that she has wanted to smack me this summer and the urge was often mutual. However, there really is no way that I could have gotten through this summer without her. She has been so much help to me throughout the whole wedding process and I truly appreciate everything she has done. I LOVE YOU , MOM! I have been walking around for the past couple weeks about my "stress free bubble." I am trying to stay calm through these next few weeks back at work and before the wedding. However, I am starting to feel stress sneaking up on me. Being back to work just makes me get a little crazy and I start feeling overwhelmed. My classroom still looks like a tornado has blown through and "Meet the Teacher" is tomorrow from 3-5. My students will be in my classroom in less than 24 hours! AHHHHH! I know it will all come together...it always does!

I just keep telling myself, "in 20 days, you will be on the beach in Mexico!"

Moving Day...part two!

I have to be back to school tomorrow (can you believe the summer flew by so fast) so we figured that it is time to move my furniture into the guest bedroom. It is not fitting quite the way that we hoped but we are trying to figure it out! I just can't believe that I am moving my stuff into our house and we are getting married in 3 weeks from today! 21 days people! WOO HOO!

Pimp out my Fiance?

So, I have been seriously think about pimping out Mike's amazing talents! He created our adorable Save the Date postcards, our incredible wedding invitations, our hilarious Rehearsal Dinner invitations, and now our Wedding BBQ invitations.

My mom is crazy and is throwing a party the night before our wedding. We are not inviting children to our wedding or rehearsal dinner and we wanted to host a family event that everyone can enjoy! Check out this adorable invitation...Seriously, I think he could be doing this as a job! Well...maybe as part of his free lance! So Mike...what do you think :)

Stress

I have been extremely stressed out the for the past couple of weeks! Our cheerleaders practiced everyday and it was physically and emotionally exhausting! After the girls' wonderful performance at their dress rehearsal, I was greet at home by Mike making dinner. He knows how stressed I have been so he prepared dinner and it was so so sweet!Yesterday was the regional competition. Last year, my squad got first place and it was the best day ever. However, this year was not the same. The girls dropped two stunts and obviously did not place. A very disappointing day for everyone. My dinner reflected my mood...Probably not the best idea since my final dress fitting is tomorrow. If it fits, I take it home. If it doesn't, I have to get it next week! AHHHHH! I am only down 3 of the 5 pounds and I hoped for. Can you lose 2 pounds over night? Hummmm....

StudioB!

A mentioned a few days ago that I am so so excited to have StudioB! at our wedding.

What is StudioB!? StudioB! is a concept created by my amazing photographers. It is pretty much a photobooth without the booth! People stand in front of a screen, take awesome pictures, and then the pictures are printed and projected for all to see! Mike and I talked and I think we are going to go get some props for later in the evening. How much fun are these pictures?!Boas, hats, wigs, glasses....oh I can imagine the pictures right now! Mike and I need to head over to a costume/party store and check out the goods! I just can't wait! 24 more days :)
