Kitchen Questions...

Katie...the track lighting was from Lowe's for about $50.
Sheri...the backsplash was from Home Depot for $10/ sq. ft.
Allison...yes, you can hang out in the kitchen. Come on over :)
Drama Queen (I don't know your real name) and Gia...The name of the granite tile that we used is called "Impalla Black." If you look at it up close, it looks black with specks of shades of gray. There are some zoomed in pictures of the granite if you click on the "Kitchen" tab on the right. You can just click this link and scroll down to see the other pics.
Hope everyone has a great Friday night!

Wedding Morning

I know that I have posted about my wedding but now that my pro pictures are rolling in, I have to share some more. It is really hard to narrow it down but I am going to post some (10) pictures of our wedding morning. Can I say that I LOVE Danielle Erb? She really is amazing and can make anyone look fabulous! As the girls were getting primped and pretty, the boys were drinking beer and playing Rock Band. Love the pictures from this time of the day...My beautiful and bestest friends...It was soon time to get dressed and meet Mike up in the empty ballrooms. I can't even believe this picture. It reminds me of all of the emotions that I was feeling at that moment.I did take boudoir pictures and make a book for Mike as his wedding gift. This picture cracks me up.This was so much fun...Time to get married!I love this picture of my sister with our marriage documents!I can't believe I narrowed hundreds of pictures down to 10! Ceremony pics are up next!

Drumroll please...

I can't believe the kitchen is finally done! I know I teased it last weekend and I just haven't had any time this week to do a super-kitchen post. But here it is!

Do you remember our old kitchen?

Now it is finally time for the before and after picture...

BEFORE
(please notice the floor, fan, faux-brick, white countertop and yellow soffit)
AFTER
Now we have a tile floor, no fan, cabinets to the ceiling, granite countertop, and real backsplash)
We just love it! On to more pictures!Remember the old, empty, half-wall with the stove?AFTER
I just can't believe the transformation of this wall. It really does amaze me. Obviously, we haven't gone out to buy new appliances. Old stove, fridge, and dishwasher. They are all in working order so we will hang on to them until they die. Thanks to everyone for their compliments! I am so happy it is finally finished and we have a working kitchen again. My amazing husband worked so hard on this kitchen and we couldn't have done it without Nick and Chris. They are absolutely amazing guys and we totally appreciate everything they did! YAY!!!

Kids are so honest (too honest)

Of course, I have gotten the "did you cut your hair" question a few times. (School only started 13 minutes ago...they are in PE right now.)

BUT...I have gotten multiple ones like this..
EXACT QUOTES..."You shouldn't have done that. It looked better before."
"I don't like your haircut. I liked it longer."
"Why did you do that?"

Wow...thanks guys. I know that our "community conversation" will be this morning when they get back. The subject will be "What to do when you think something negative. Say it or keep it to yourself?"

Mardi Party!

When I was 19, I went down to Soulard for the first time to indulge in the Mardi Gras celebration. It was even fun to look back at my blog and see how I celebrated last year. Pretty much the same story this year. Party at our friends' house (thanks Kate), walk to Soulard, enjoy the Captain Tent, and have a blast! It was a bit colder this year...and VERY windy!!!Had so much fun in the Captain Test again!!! Love that place :)I really wonder when we will stop coming down? Hopefully never. I was so sore when I woke up on Sunday morning. Especially my arm from holding my huge purse all day. Then next morning, I realized that I was carrying around a bottle of water all day and bottles of beer earlier in the day. No wonder it was so heavy. Leslie and I even had our men hold them on our walk back to the car. That's it. I love Mardi Gras. AND...I love Kate's dogs!

More red carpet fashion

Some "WOWs" but also a bunch of "OH NOs"...

My favorite of the night...I love everything about it! I also may bring a picture of her hair to my appointment on Tuesday! (It might be a bit too short though)

Angelina is stunning...as usual.Did anyone notice how the camera went right to Brad and Angie when Jennifer Aniston was on stage?

Loved this...especially the color!Beautiful dress but I still think Ann Hathaway looks too skinny!OK...now my turn to be a "hater".

Did anyone else hear Vanessa Hudgens call herself a "modern day Audry Hepburn"??? Really? Sarah Jessica can go either way...but her dress tonight looked painful!Seriously? What the hell? This actress just freaks me out. What is she wearing?I don't know who she is but I DO know that I don't like her dress!Sorry Beyonce, I am not a fan of this one. Was she lip syncing tonight?
Alright...need to go to bed! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Wedding Details

I have a feeling that my blog posts are going to be focused on my wedding pictures because I am slowly receiving them. So far, I have pictures of us getting ready and pre-ceremony pictures. (Side note...My girl, Leslie, got all of her amazing pictures today...and she was married 2 1/2 months after me...just had to mention that.)

It is not secret that waiting almost 6 months for my pictures has been very frustrating and has tested my patience. However, like I knew and told myself from the beginning, they are worth it. I am thrilled with the pictures so far and can't wait to see more.

Here are some favorite detail pictures....(courtesy of Browers Photography)Love 'em. Just love 'em!
