Catching up!

I have been so busy these past couple of weeks and blogging has not been a top priority.

What I been up to, you ask?

The craziness started when Allison had baby Lincoln. We lost the picture temporarily but they are back!!! What a handsome guy!Why do we pose with other peoples' children? Really?
A picture with the beautiful mama.
And I just love me some baby toes ;)The next day, we went downtown for the Homerun Derby. We didn't have tickets but we had a great time partying anyways! First we met in Tess and Kevin's loft...And baby Truman! Then off to Mike Shannon's downtown. SO. MUCH. FUN!Look at all of the people. And this was before the Derby even started! The pictures go majorly downhill from there as the night went on so we are going to stop there.

After a day of packing, it was time to head to Destin, Florida for Tess' bachelorette party. I was lucky enough to be able to be in Florida from Wednesday night to Monday morning. We were able to stay in Tess' future in-laws' condos and they were fabulous. I stayed in the one right off the beach. The weekend was full of drinking, eating, and laughing with good friends. The whole group! On the night of the actual bachelorette party, we played Bar Golf? Have you ever played this game? Oh my gosh...it was so much fun and definitely ended in a drunken mess.

Here are some of us in our golfing attire...We were split into teams of 5 people...we knew immediately our time would win. Here we are! Here is a short explanation of the game. You go to 9 bars and each bar has a Par 2. That means your team needs to split 2 beers. After the 2 beers, you get 1 point for each addition beer and 2 points for each specialty drink your team takes. The first bars specialty drink was lemon drop, the next specialty drink was a Jagger bomb. Specialty drinks down line were tequila shots, daiquiris, bartender's choice... It was a blast! Starting to get a little more sloppy at the end of the night. Notice the grafitti-ed shirts. So much fun! Loved it!

For the past week that I have been home, I have been dedicating most of my time to finishing my work for my masters classes. I counted up yesterday and I have written 16 papers in the past 2 months. Seriously! 16! I am happy to say that I submitted the last of my papers to my teacher this morning and I am DONE! I am celebrating by going to the Cardinals game tonight with work friends! WOO HOO!

Of course, I have been working on the other blog and trying to get it exactly where we want it to be.

I also can't believe that I will be back to school in 2 weeks from today! Did this summer fly by or what?! I guess that is what I get for taking 2 very challenging classes and raising a beautiful little puppy. By the way...Mia is the best!

LOVE THIS

If you know me, you know that I am a huge fan of paper products for weddings. After we decided to do full DIY, I grew a great appreciation for invitations, envelopes, calligraphy, etc. I just about died over my friend, Tess' rehearsal dinner invitations. Tess and Kevin love to golf and the invitations read "FORE! ever and ever in love! Adorable! They also have the sweetest little (well, actually big) bulldog named Truman). Check it out.

Bad luck with pictures

I am back from vacation! I just spend 5 days down in Florida for a friend's bachelorette party. Trying to get back into the swing of things around the house. I also have 10 papers to write in the next few days.

I am pretty bummed right now because I hate blogging without pictures. I was going to blog about our awesome float trip...but I lost our camera in the river. Bad luck.

I wanted to post some pictures of my friends' new baby, Lincoln...but the computer won't show the pictures. It says the format of those pictures is RAW but Mike swears that they aren't. I only have 2 pictures that we took at the hospital (out of over 100)!!!Cute pictures, but only 2. I am pissed.

I wanted to blog about the homerun derby...but guess what...those are "RAW" too so I can't get them. Bummer!

Mike is going to try to mess with it tomorrow and hopefully we can salvage some pictures!

Hope everyone has been doing well! I need to get to work on my papers!

She is very good at doing her tricks (although she can't do any of them at puppy class). She can sit...laydown...shake...and roll over...She loves to play with her toys...sleep in the sun...and cuddle in bed in the morning...
We are off to puppy class again tonight. Hopefully she will be better tonight than she was last week!

Sunday Funday

I have so many random things to share, so hang on...

-My friend Allison had her baby yesterday! Lincoln James was born 7/11 and was 7 lbs. 6 oz. He is adorable and I can't wait to post pictures. (Too tired right now...)
-We went floating this weekend. Such a blast! LOVE IT!
-Lost my digital, waterproof camera in the river. Don't love that :( I need to go get another one this week!
-My brother ran in the All-Star charity 5K this morning. He got 3rd place out of 8,000 people. Seriously...how are we in the same family.
-I am going to go downtown to witness the mayhem of Homerun Derby. No tickets...just walking around!
-Mike has been working on a calligraphy job doing escort cards and they look AWESOME! (Pics to come!)
-I have about 2 weeks left in my masters classes and 10 papers to write. Awesome.

Alrighty...I think I am going to go to bed. SOOO tired!

Calligraphy Blog

So I need some help. I need to start a blog with our calligraphy information and I want the set-up that Julia, Angie, and Kristal have. I want tabs at the top like that have that will say "Information, Samples, Prices, Blog, blablabla). I want to be able to upload large pictures and I am having a hard time figuring out how to do this.

Anyone want to do this for me? Or talk me through it? Angie tried but it just seems so complicated? Hummm....

What a weekend!

I love long, holiday weekends and this one did not disappoint. Our schedule was packed and we loved every minute of it.

Thursday
Mike took off work on Thursday to participate in the "Ginny Bucket Open" (a golf tournament and party hosted by our friend Allison and Shaun's parents). So Mike golfed all day where I worked around the house. We met up at the Legends in Eureka for the afterparty at Allison's parents' house. They just got an adorable Victorian Bulldog (is that right, Al) and we had a blast playing with her. (Sorry the pictures are blurry...all were taken on the iPhone when I wasn't exactly sober.)Of course the night would be complete without the BEST steak sandwiches EVER and ginny buckets!!!Friday
Mike and I spend most of the afternoon at the Kirkwood pool with my friend, Carrie. Carrie and I usually layout the whole time but Mike decided that he didn't want to "be boring." That translated to 5 trips around the lazy river, 4 trips down the huge slides (they are actually fast and the dark one is scary), and some time doing backflip and handstand contests in the big pool. Mike got burned so bad and I regret not taking a picture. Seriously, you have never seen red like this. My poor, pale husband.

Friday night, we went to dinner with some best friends (Tess and Kevin and Allison and Shaun). You have heard me mention these couples tons of times. Tess and Kev are getting married on our anniversary weekend and Allison and Shaun will be welcoming their little one within the next 2 weeks! We stuffed our faces and did a lot of laughing and talking at Magianno's. YUM!Saturday
I love the 4th of July (which also happens to be my friend, Kate's, birthday)!!! This year, a lot of our college friends were out of town in Chicago and we got to hang out with my best friends from high school. SO MUCH FUN! Stevie had everyone over and we had a blast! Her house is adorable and we are so excited for her wedding to Matt in October. On to the pictures...The 4 of us were inseparable in high school! So "Slap the Bag" might be the dumbest "game" I have ever played but it was hilarious. You chug wine out of the bag while everyone counts how many seconds you can do it...and then you slap the bag and try to break it...but the bag can't break. Your hand can though...it hurt!

Picture of the crew (it is so funny how we all ended up matching our husband/fiance/boyfriend)!We spent a lot of Sunday recovering and I had to work on a presentation due on Monday. We went to dinner with my family at Balducci's. Have you been there? DELICIOUS PIZZA! I will end with a picture of my baby and I from this wonderful weekend :)

Baby nurseries!

I am not having a baby but that doesn't stop me from admiring my friends' nurseries. Kristal just posted about her nursery plans just as I was going to post pictures of my friends' nurseries! Let's start with baby Collin's adorable room full of little animals. The little monkeys everywhere are ADORABLE! I have to mention that Collin's daddy, Nick, made that crib from scratch! Absolutely amazing!!! I love the green color they chose for the walls...so calming and soothing. And of course, a big comfy chair!Nice work, Nick and Mimi! I know that Collin loves it!

Next, Allison and Shaun's baby (who is to remain nameless until his birth in a few weeks) will love his new nursery. Again...I am so impressed!Leave it to Allison to have fun with colors and different shapes. LOVE IT, Al!!!At first I was a little annoyed that the baby was taking MY guest bedroom but I guess I can get over it ;) Nice work on the nurseries, ladies! Until I can decorate one of my own, I am just going to admire yours :)

Tess is getting married!

This month, I have attended 2 showers for one of my best friends, Tess. Tess and her fiance, Kevin, are getting married on our 1 year anniversary weekend. What a crazy weekend it will be! At the first shower, I had the pleasure of making Tess' bow bouquet. I am getting pretty darn good at those things.I even got to put a little puppy in my pocket :)Last weekend, I got to go to another shower with Tess' HUGE family. Honestly, I would guess close to 100 people were there. Definitely the size of a small wedding. I got to make the bow bouquet again (although I called "not it" in the car)! Here is a picture of 7 out of the 9 bridesmaids drinking cosmos after the shower. This family loves to drink and party...this wedding is going to be AWESOME!
