Brangelina

I love when tabloids are correct. So many stars publicly say, "Tabloids are lies. Don't but them and encourage the business...blablabla." But they are so right on SO many things! For instance, multiple magazines and internet blogs of said that Angelina Jolie is pregnant and they have been saying that for a while. My favorite and most accurate celebrity source is Perez Hilton. I looked up the pictures that he has posted lately and he has been predicting this pregnancy for a while. See he even draws a little baby in her purse:) I love how celebrities try to hid their baby bump under terribly obvious clothes. This trench isn't too obvious! She is so freaking skinny and I wouldn't think that she is prego!A little bit more obvious, Angie. Trench, scarf, AND big purse. What are you hiding?!?!
When she wore this, I prayed that she was pregnant because it is so ugly!!!Well, duh...you are pregnant. You are wearing a tent! Your secret is out, Angie!
Personally, I thought that this picture looked fake, maybe photoshopped. But TMZ had an actual video of them walking around and the bump is real! I absolutely LOVE Angelina Jolie...I don't really know why...I just think she is so cool. They are such a beautiful couple and I really do respect how they donate their time, money, and celebrity status for good (instead of partying and going to jail). I am happy for them! I just hope I can look this adorable when I am pregnant!

Bored!

So a while ago, I found the most entertaining website EVER! http://www.makeoversolutions.com/
You upload a picture of yourself and then give yourself a virtual makeover! Here are some of my creations:My sister is a beautiful blond so I wondered if I would look good as one. Interesting, I think?!?!
OH YEA!!!

SO THEN, I decided to get silly. I uploaded Mike's picture and look what I did!!!HAHAHA...he is going to KILL me for putting that up. But I was so proud of it! Isn't he so pretty??? After I did a little gender-bending with Mike's picture, it made me experiment with mine. What would I look like as a man??? Oh...get ready...I am definitely NOT a cute man! OK...I am going to go make some more! DO YOU SEE HOW I AM WASTING AWAY MY SNOW DAY????

I WANT...

#1....this J.Crew satin clutch for my wedding. Isn't it so beautiful?! However, it is really expensive for something that I probably would one use on my wedding day ($98). But it is sooo pretty!!! #2...this sleet to stop. It is so gross outside!!! School was canceled today and don't get me wrong, I LOVE SNOWDAYS! BUT...I don't like feeling trapped in my house all day! I know that my car will not get along with the inch of ice on the road! We might get another snow day tomorrow!!! #3...to look like this! I really need this wedding workout motivation to kick in. I thought that it would come with January 1st. It didn't. I thought that maybe hitting the 200-days-until-our-wedding mark would do it. It didn't. I thought that bathing suit shopping would do it. Nope. I am getting so frustrated by myself!!! Right now, I have decided that March will be it! I am a bridesmaid in my friend's May wedding. I was between 2 sizes for the bridesmaid dress so I got the smaller one. Now, I am hoping that I am not the annoying bridesmaid that every bride hates! The one who ordered the dress too small!

4...my wedding planning to be easier. I am getting behind. Right now my biggest stress is the bridesmaid dresses. I found one that I liked but then saw real life pictures of the dress (not the ones on the website). The color was NOTHING like I thought so now I am back to square one.Um...that is supposed to be sage green? Really? AHHHH! So annoying!

So if there are any bored blog readers that want to go searching for a sage green, chiffon, tea length dress...let me know, that would be awesome! Because I am close to going insane!

Neglect...

Almost 10 days since my last post!!! WHOA!!! Last week was super crazy so here is the update!
*My cheerleaders had their last games last week! Friday was the official last game and I am so EXCITED to have a little time off. But we are now preparing for our upcoming tryouts on March 13th!
*I participated in a marketing research panel. I got paid $200 to read Real Simple Weddings and give my opinions! I decided that I am going to use my $200 toward a real wedding planner. I met with Sabrina Torti last night and I am meeting with Alison White on Thursday.*Valentine's Day was awesome! We ate at a wonderful restaurant called Savor. It was just delicious...and I definitely got a little tipsy off our our champagne and bottle of wine. We decided not to do presents this year and instead, treat our friends and family with StudioB at our wedding. Although my parents are completely taking on the financial portion of our wedding, we are trying to contribute with some of the "extras" that we want, but aren't necessary. Thanks Julia!!! *And finally, the most exciting thing that we have done in the past 10 days is.....HOUSE HUNTING!!! YEA!!! We saw 6 houses on Saturday and 6 houses on Sunday. This is so much fun but stressful! We have a while but we definitely need to be in a house by the end of May (Mike's lease is up). It is just so crazy to think that we will have our own house in just a few months. WOW! We are looking again this weekend so I will keep you all posted.

*OH WAIT...how can I forget...my best friend, Leslie, got engaged on Saturday night:) About 2 years ago, I was living with Leslie and Mike needed a roommate. I told him to ask his friend from work (Christian) so he did. Mike and Christian had lived together for 6 months when we decided to play matchmaker. Leslie was single and so was Christian so why not?!?! Well now, after a year and a half of dating, Christian popped the questions! Here are some pics of us at Lucas Park celebrating after the big "YES"!!!Leslie crying when she saw her parents!
Bling, Bling
The happily engaged boys/roommates!
Group shot!
CONGRATS LESLIE AND CHRISTIAN! I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!

I met my dress!!!

I met my dress on Saturday and let me tell you, I was definitely nervous. What if I didn't love it anymore? What if it didn't zip? It was a mix of emotions when I went into the dressing room. I just stood there, staring at the dress...too afraid to touch it. I don't know what I was exactly scared of? I was too scared to touch it...maybe too scared to break it? Well, after a few minutes, I went for it...I took it off the hanger and put it on. All of my fears were pushed aside when I finally put it on. Thank the lord, I still LOVE it and it zipped! Actually it was a little bit big! I decided on a veil too! After trying on tons of different lengths and styles, I decided in a very simple, single layered, fingertip length veil. I looked though my fellow Browers brides' wedding pictures and noticed that everyone had a long veil. I tried one on but was just not feeling it. I love the look in pictures but when I put it on, I felt like it overpowered me an my dress. It also reminded me of a mosquito net. Just not my style (although my mom REALLY loved it)! This one was just too poofy!!! You can tell by my face that I didn't like it...haha! But I love the ribboned edge. Mine will have that too...just a little thinner!Anyway, I love my dress! I am so happy about my choice. It is so different...I haven't seen anyone wear it yet! I don't have to go in for alterations until May so now it is time to get into the gym and tone up those arms, shoulders, and my back! Not looking forward to that!!!

The craziest day ever!!!

Today was probably the craziest day that I have had since I have been a teacher.

Let me give some background information....
Since today was SuperTuesday and our school is a polling place, we were pretty much locked in our classroom all day! Registered sex offenders still have the right to vote and some are assigned to vote at our school. Therefore, recess is inside, lunch is in the classroom, and even PE teachers came to the room to teach. So it was a really funky day from the start....

Flash to 10:15 am....
I am teaching writing and some of my kids are presenting about different persuasive articles that they read. Suddenly, the lights flicker, my SmartBoard shuts off, and everything goes black. I don't have a window in my room so obviously, it is very dark. The kids all freak out, get really excited, and VERY loud! We sit in the darkness for a few moments and our principal comes over the intercom. She tells us to stay in our rooms and wait for the lights to come back. Meanwhile, I see classes moving through the hall toward the exit doors.

A moment later, the principal is back with a more urgent and frightened messaged saying, "Everyone, please evacuate the building this minute." Of course, it is POURING out. Not drizzling, not sprinkling, but POURING. I have....1. No Umbrella 2. No hood and 3. Only my Northface fleece. For the next 25 minutes, my class and 400 other students and staff stand up on the muddy hill getting soaked! It was freezing...but honestly, a hilarious sight. I wish that my camera had batteries because I have never seen anything like it!!!

After the fire squad went though the school and decided that it was safe, we were allowed to return inside. Seriously, we looked like we had all just gotten out of the shower. Soaking wet and SO COLD! When we got back inside, the power was still out. We sat in the dark until 11:30 when AmerenUE finally got the power back on.

Apparently, a power cord fell by the school and caused a power outage. That caused the generator to click on which created a lot of heat. The cold air and rain caused steam which looked like smoke. So a teacher called the office and said that there was smoke outside her room and that caused the evacuation. Now here is my favorite part which brings us back to the beginning.

The police had to come because the polling supervisors would not evacuate the building. Apparently, they are legally bound to the poll machines and they would NOT leave. The news channels showed up too!

WHAT A DAY! By the time the kids left, I felt like this whole fiasco had been 2 days ago! Wow....that was a long post. Mike goes to Colorado tomorrow for until Monday. Lucky!!! I am going to go spend sometime with him before I go to sleep. Night night!!!

St. Louis Weather

So as we all know, it snowed last Thursday night in St. Louis. I really haven't seen that much snow here in a long time. 8 INCHES!!! And it was just enough to give me a Friday snow day! Mike was planning on meeting our real estate agent for lunch since I had to work but instead, we got to go together. We are planning on getting a home that he can move into in May, when his lease is up. I will stay in my friend's (Mike...a different one) house until August when we get married. We got pre-approved for our loan and we are going to start looking at houses next weekend! WOO HOO! Here are a couple pictures of the snow in our backyard and my hunny cleaning off our cars. Table in the backyard
Our Mazdas! Mike has the Mazda3 and I have the Tribute.
Our little BBQ pit
Isn't he so cute! He didn't have a hat so he tied his little scarf around his head. He looked like a Russian grandma! But hey, he clean off my car so "thanks Grandma!"

So all of this and 3 days later, we get a beautiful 65 degree day! It was wonderful!!! Outdoor recess for the first time in FOREVER! The kids loved it and so did I! Too bad it only lasted 24 hours!

Last week, I was at my favorite store and saw my blogs title all over the place. Check out these letters...you know....people mount them on their walls or put them on top of shelves. I wanted to buy them but I really don't have a need for them right now.Cute, huh?! Then I went around the corner and saw these equally cool serving trays. How fun!!!

Snow Day Pros and Con

I was so excited last night when Parkway announced their close for a snow day! Seriously, snow days are the best...maybe they are even better as now that I am a teacher. However, there are pros and cons!
PROS
-Obviously, I don't have to work...and I still get paid
-I got to sleep today until 8:30 instead of 6! If felt great but I wish I would have slept later.
-I got to have lunch with Mike, which is always fun. Today we went to Carl's diner for a delicious burger and root beer!
-I am able to get stuff done. Today, I got to attend Mike's meeting with our real estate agent. I was bummed that I was going to have to miss it so it all worked out that I was able to attend. AND...we were pre-approved for our loan so we are able to start looking! WOO HOO!!!
CONS
-I love working and my body loves being on a schedule. I eat at the same time each day, I eat about the same food each day, and there is NO SNACKING. Last night, Mike bought me a bag of Baked Lays Ruffles. And right now, at 3:45...they are gone. I ATE THE WHOLE BAG. This is so terrible and embarrassing but they are SO FREAKING GOOD. They are the Cheddar and Sour Cream flavored...yummmmm.....
Above is a picture of the serving size for the little individual packages. Ohhh mannnn...what have I done! Oh well...they were REALLY good! I have to go now and prepare for the craziness of tomorrow. MARDI GRAS!!!!!
