I just got this idea from Jen's blog. She has been losing weight and has been reporting about it on her blog. Now, I have NOT been losing weight...actually I have been doing the opposite! Who gains weight with 32 days before her wedding? Seriously?
SOOOO...I am supposed to lose 5 lbs by next Friday, 8th. Let's get real...it probably isn't going to happen. BUT...if I am required to post it on the Internet for all to read then maybe it will inspire me. But maybe not. I then need to lose another lbs by my wedding day, August 31st. Do you think it is possible to lose 10 lbs in 5 weeks?
Here are my solutions and goals:
First off....I need to get my tush to the gym!
I will NOT eat fast food until after the wedding.
I am not going to drink alcohol until the wedding weekend (I really don't know if I can do this one but I am going to try.)
I am going to try to eat only brown carbs (bread, rice...).
Wish me luck! I just really want my dress to zip!!!
I have been wanting to post these for a while but I wanted to make sure our guests had received them first. Our rehearsal dinner invitations are now in the hot hands of our friends and family and now you can see them too! Since Mike's family is Greek, his family wanted to add some of their culture (and food) into our wedding weekend. It is such a great idea and Mike's talents again just blow my mind!!!
I love them!!! So freaking cute :) OPA!
my wedding shoes? After going back and forth about all different kind of shoes, I just decided to be a little crazy!
Now that I will be holding pink flowers, I thought I could pull them off!
I have spent all day trying to track these bad-boys down! See...I got them as a gift at one of my wedding showers. They are so adorable...called Kate Spade Darling Point. See the little "Mr." and "Mrs." engraved in the glass? Problem is...the "Mrs." flute has a flaw. There is a bubble in the glass front and center. I have called every Macy's in St. Louis (along with Bed, Bath, and Beyond and Dillards) and NO ONE has these freaking flutes. Apparently, the flaw has been found in many of the flutes. ARRRRRG!
The only solution for me right now...order some from Macy's and pray that they come in without problems. We are cutting is close so I am getting nervous. Hopefully I can get in the store tomorrow and order a new pair!!!
I feel like I have been so crazy lately and things are only going to pick up in August! The wedding is in 34 days and we are scrambling to get things done. We are making our table numbers, programs, menus, and escort cards on our own and we can't put them off any longer! I will be back to school in 2 weeks from today!!! AHHH....where did this summer go?!?
OK...let me catch you up...
I had another shower a couple weeks ago. It was lovely and was at The Tearoom in the Valley. Mike's extended family owns the tearoom and it was a great spot for a shower. Check out the food...yummmm....Again....4 out of 6 of my lovely maids....
Check out my awesome gifts! Since Mike went to KU and I went to MU, we have a little rivalry going on. Here we can wave our flag on game days!
This is a sign for my new classroom from my bridesmaid, Leslie. Her future sister-in-law makes these and sells them at craft shows!
Mike even showed up to open a setting of our china!
It was such a lovely shower! I have 1 more left and it will be a lingerie shower thrown by my awesome bridesmaids!
This past weekend, we floated on the Current River. It is an annual trip that Mike plans every year. This is the 4th float trip and my third. I met Mike the week after he floated the first year! On Friday night, it POURED. Seriously, it was terrifying and fun in a strange way. Thankfully we had set up pavilion tents and they definitely saved the day! We had the best setup ever! We partied in the rain on Friday, floated all day Saturday, and finally left for home on Sunday! Float trips are the best:)
Here with Leslie and Christian!
I didn't take any pictures on the river but Mike did...I will try to get ahold of his camera and pictures. Wait till you see how the boys entertained themselves...
While you all enjoy your weekend staying warm and dry, please take a moment to say a little prayer for clear skies in Salem, Missouri. We are leaving for a float trip today and coming back on Sunday. Unfortunately, the forecast does not look too promising...THUNDERSTORMS, THUNDERSTORMS, THUNDERSTORMS!
Can you even float during a thunderstorm? Probably not! I am not going to sleep in a tent during a thunderstorm!!! I guess I can sleep in the car :(
I promise, I love float trips. I love camping. I am generally very excited about this kind of weekend. But right now, I have a feeling that it is going to be down right miserable!
I have seen this before and I cried like a baby. It is so amazing and adorable and just makes me happy! I saw it again today and decided to post it here!
Sunday morning we had to pack our bags and get ready to check out of our dear Flamingo. Our flights were all leaving at different times throughout the day but we all decided to lounge around the hotel until it was time to go. Of course, I had to take pictures before we all parted ways.As everyone else went to the airport, my sister, Leslie and I went to our second-cousin's house. Our flight didn't take off until 7:30 pm so we got to relax, hang out with family, and eat some Chinese food :) Their house was AMAZING! I really wish I would have taken more pictures of it! Check out their backyard and their incredible pool.
I also fell in love with their boxer, Stella.
Eventually, our Vegas trip had to end and my bachelorette party was definitely over. It is amazing how you can look forward to something for so long, and then suddenly, it is all over! BUT...when I got back to my parents house that night, I was greeted by this...
RSVP cards! YAY!!!!
Back to our final night in Vegas...
Friday was definitely the craziest night so it was going to be hard to top it. I think that we all were dying on Saturday morning and luckily it was cloudy and overcast which forced us to eat, relax, and spend some time indoors. We walked over to Margaritaville and it was just what we needed! After 2 pina coladas and a grilled cheese, I was back alive. After a longggg lunch, the sky had cleared and we headed back to the pool for some serious lounging. I drank A LOT of water and apparently didn't take any pictures all day!
After a nap, we all got pretty and gambled a bit. I think everyone won but me...but we had a great time!
Next, we headed over to the Bellagio to check out the fountain show. It was really beautiful and I am glad that we did some "touristy" stuff!
After the beautiful water show, we went to the Hard Rock Hotel's club called Body English. We got into VIP and ended up getting free bottle service from a rich couple that had way too much alcohol. We had a great view of the club and it was so nice to be above the crowd. Here is a picture with my bridesmaids!
Later in the night, we hung out with Sal Masekela and Ben Lyon's from the Daily 10 and E! News. Personally, I am a big fan of both shows as I need to know the day to day events in celebs' lives. Although most people don't know who Sal and Ben are...we sure did!
Ben and I were talking about his recent break up with Whitney from The Hills.
After hours of Body English, we decided it was finally time to head back to our little hotel and get some shut eye before we headed back home the next day. I do have some Sunday pictures that will finish up my Vegas posts! Time for me to go to sleepy now :)
Just got home from shower #2...will post pictures later. I love this quote from Mike...
"Isn't it so cool that we get presents...just for loving each other?"
Cute cute :)
Friday was definitely my favorite day/night in Vegas. We got up and headed down to the pool. Since Friday was officially my "bachelorette party day," I wore my adorable 'bride' tanktop (thanks Ali!).
We made friends with a group of guys and continued to spend the day hanging out, soaking up the sun, and drinking $34 buckets (ouch).Late in the day, they held a bikini/dance contest. We talked 2 of our friends into competing because the winner got a $150 bar tab and obviously, we needed that. After all of the girls competed and we seriously harassed my sister, she jump into the contest as the last competitor. As a non-dancer (her words, not mine) she didn't know what to do on the pole in the center of the pool. She continued to pose (yes pose...like Vogue). She did the kissy face, the wave, the Marilyn Monroe, the cheerleader #1 pose, and pulled out all of the Vogue-ing stops. And people loved it. Seriously...she won.
It is amazing how a hot body and win a dancing contest! We were so proud...and the recipients of free drinks :)
After a LONGGGG morning/afternoon at the pool, it was time to get ready for our big night out. The plan was for all of the girls to wear black and I wore red. We had so fun in the hotel before heading out...this is the only PG picture I can show:)
A group shot...my friend, Lauren, didn't get the all-black memo!My awesome friend, Kate, hooked us up with a limo that took us to the most amazing part of our trip.
We were off to The Thunder from Down Under.
Seriously, words cannot express this. At first, I thought I had walked into a bad all guy showchoir performance. Some of the guys were so terrible at dancing that it was awkward. Then the clothes came off and everything changed. I am not going to get into too much detail and I don't have any pictures to show (they don't let you take pictures obviously) BUT.... let me tell you...I got to go onstage. Craig (3rd from the left) obviously fell in love with me, came into the crowd and pulled me onstage. Here is a picture from the website. Please imagine me lying on the floor, in between his arms, under his body, screaming and freaking out.
Seriously, the most amazing 3 minutes of my life (just kidding Mike)! I really can't talk about it without getting giddy and sweating. I love you, Craig...call me sometime :)
The rest of the evening was amazing but it just can't compare. We ate at Tao. AMAZING! Beautiful. Delicious! I definitely recommend. We even got to sit in front of the awesome statue in the center of the restaurant! We hated the club part of Tao...way too crowded. Apparently it is where most of the celebs go because there was a lot of paparazzi when we left. We then went over to the Palms where we enjoyed the Playboy Club and Ghost Bar. We couldn't go to Moon but next time I will definitely check it out! I loved the view of the strip from the Ghost Bar...so cool!
We pretended that we were on the Real World and stayed until the club closed (I think 5 AM). I am tired thinking about it again. It was a great time!!!

Here we go...!!! I am going to make sure that my Vegas posts are appropriate because I will never really know who is reading this!
We arrived in Vegas at about 1:30 and went right to the pool! (How fabulous are the pink elevators!) After a few hours (and a few drinks) at the pool, we went up to our hotel rooms to get ready for dinner! There were only 8 of us in town so far and we went to this awesome restaurant called Battista's Hole in the Wall. For $22-$28, you get "all you can drink" wine, garlic bread, soup or salad, dinner with pasta, and amazing cappuccino for dessert! WE LOVED IT!!!
I was even serenaded by the most adorable little man ever! He sang an Italian wedding song!

I would definitely recommend visiting Battista's next time you go to Vegas. It is definitely a "hole in the wall" but it was fun and they had great food (and who can complain about unlimited wine??)! It is located right by the Flamingo Hotel (where we stayed)!
So...while we waited for our other 4 friends, we went back to the hotel for some good clean fun :)Finally, with all 12 of us in Vegas and ready to hit the town, we headed to The Mirage to a club called Jet. Honestly, looking back, it wasn't my favorite. BUT, it was the first place that we went so we had a good time. I think that I especially had a good time!

After leaving Jet, we headed over to The Wynn ("the only 5 Star 5 Diamond hotel in the World") to a club called Blush. We had free bottle service so that was great. The decor was really great there!
Some craziness followed which resulted in getting to bed at about 4:30 AM Vegas Time (6:30 St. Louis time). I DDed (dialed) Mike early into the morning and don't worry...he was still awake. Where in St. Louis can you be until 6:30 in the morning. Yup, you guessed it! Mike thought it was his bachelor party part 2. Hummmm....
