Happy Anniversary to us...

YAY! We made it through September! We have been looking forward to our one-month anniversary so we could dig in to the top tier of our wedding cake! It was also an excuse to have a romantic night together! I got home early from work so I decided to set the table, light some candles, and put that Crate and Barrel cake holder to use (Mike swore that we would never use it).Cute, huh? Check out all of the thank you notes/addresses/stamps in the corner! Those of you that know me KNOW that I don't cook! BUT...I am trying really hard and I am pretty proud of myself! I made a baked pasta, garlic bread, and steamed asparagus. Of course, we had to drink some champagne so it was nice to pull out the wedding flutes, as well!I was pretty surprised that our cake still tasted wonderful. It is Lubeley's amaretto cake with raspberry filling. We only at 1/4 of it tonight. We are going to eat some more tomorrow and then share some with my parents on Thursday night! When did you eat the top tier of your wedding cake?

Congrats on making it one month!

We were even worse than you since we ate ours the very next day after the wedding. We were packing all of our belongings into the stupid U-Haul, preparing to make the long drive up north to our new city....and I just needed to eat our cake right then and there.

Plus we didn't think the cake would stay frozen during the 6 hour drive, so that was our main excuse. Damn it was good:)

Sounds like you had a very nice dinner! I like your cake plate and your candelabra. (I guess that's what it's called.) Glad you had such a nice evening. Enjoy the rest of your cake!

We had a BITE (literally) on our one year wedding anniversary. Fortunately it tasted THE same as the day that we had it a year prior. (Thanks to Mom's great wrapping job and being able to freeze them at the shop with all the other cakes and no other "stuff" in the freezer.) YUM! After we each had A bite (we had eaten at The Melting Pot that night and were STUFFED), the rest went to waste. *Gasp* I grew up around cake, it wasn't a big deal to me. ;)

Congrats!! Beautiful table setting!! The food and cake look delicious.

We had our cake 2 weeks after our wedding when we got back from our honeymoon. It was to good to not eat....lol. Then we ordered a replica for our 1 year.

Happy Anniversary!!!

For not being a cook, your dinner looks tasty! We actually didn't save any of our cake--horrible, I know. Think we're doomed? :)

Awww, how cute! Your table setting is just adorable =)

We had quite a bit of cake leftover from the wedding so we got to eat some from the bottom tiers before our honeymoon but we did save the top tier and are planning to eat it on our one year. We'll see how it goes!

Congrats on one month! Well my mom made our wedding cake and she said the top tier wouldn't taste good on the one-year so all the family and out of town guests had the top tier of our cake as a late night snack! But my mom said she would bake us a cake for our one year so we're looking forward to that!

Congrats, Wies. I don't think I'll be able to stop calling you that. If you have any leftovers, I'll be over on Friday night! So happy for you two. xoxo

Happy one month anniversary!!! Wow is that some thick icing! We're going to try and save ours the whole year...I have directions on how to wrap and pack it. We'll see...haha. PS I'm still waiting on your reviews so I know why the cake wasn't what you expected!!

Congrats ;)
We ate ours on our one year and it was delish! We wanted to eat the whole thing, but we were worried we'd get sick!
Your meal looks yummy...looks like you're becoming domesticated!
