I have. I think they are versatile. Having never had one though, I don't know how you'd care for it. I imagine you may have to oil it? Maybe seal it? I think you can use it without having to worry about cutting boards, etc. but it won't always look new and smooth unless you do. I like them, I think they add character and are unique and gorgeous, but I'd do some major research into the care. That kitchen is beautiful!
I like them a lot, but I would worry about the maintenace. I wonder how often you would have to seal them in order to keep them clean. Other than that, I think they're really cool.
Those kitchens look great but I'm not a fan. I think it's because we have an old table like that from when I was little. It just reminds me of country crafts rather than modern. I bet a dark cherry would be pretty though because our table was light colored.
They aren't expensive, really! They have some at Ikea that are actually really cheap! You do have to treat it with oil or some type of seal. I don't know if we are going to get them are not. He really wants them though.
while i think those counter tops look cool.... i URGE YOU not to buy them from ikea!! ALL of my wooden furniture in my apartment is from ikea, and ALL of it is starting to crack after 2.5 years. my kitchen table is the worst, it looks almost like the wood is so dry that it's splitting in places, and i wouldn't want the same to happen to you. i bet it would have helped if we sealed our furniture or oiled it or something, but no one told us, so we had no way of knowing. sorry, i don't mean to be negative, it's just i haven't had the greatest experience with ikea stuff.

Very pretty! How easily do they scratch though? I would also be concerned about cost. For some reason, I think they'd be extremely expensive.
