Snow Day (without the snow)?!?
This morning at 5:30, I got the call that school was canceled because of "inclement weather." I was too lazy to get out of bed at the time but when I got up this morning, there was nothing. No snow, no ice on the road, hummm?! I expected to see something like this....
It must have been really icy out this morning at 5 when they sent the buses around to test the roads.
Honestly, I am not happy to be home today. Although I enjoyed the extra 3 hours of sleep and I HATE Mondays, I had a lot of work to do today with the kids. This year, we only had 3 weeks between Thanksgiving and Winter Break and we had to cram a lot of curriculum into that time. Now, a week before Break, I really didn't need a "snow" day. Oh well...can't complain. It is a paid day of work when I am not working.
Now what?
I am going to work on our holiday cards. I ordered Nutcracker stamps and received those in the mail the other day. Nutcrackers are creepy, aren't they?!
I am in a little dilemma about our cards. We have enough to send to our friends but I really don't think that all of my friends want a Christmas card from Mike and I. Of course, I am going to send them to everyone because I would never pick and chose who to send cards to...BUT, are some people going to think "why did they send this to me?!" I don't know...I hope not!
I also need to get over to Sam's Club today! We are on our last roll of toilet paper...EEK!
I might just have to go over to Bar Louie for happy hour (it starts at 4, ya know) since it is right down the street!
Have a great day!
the wind chill makes it feel like 25 below!!! and we had to go in today! feel lucky you had a snow day.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that about the Nutcracker stamps!! I had to stamp 450 cards at work and every single time I was creeped out!!!!! Those nutcrackers are right up there with clowns in my book...
:) Enjoy your "snow" day!
I love nutcrackers, but those are creepy!
i can't begin to express my jealousy over your snow day!! :) i'm not even joking when i tell you it's currently 61 degrees in philadelphia. global warming indeed!
it is a snow day without the snow, indeed. how strange.
what grade do you teach? do you totally love your job? i'm thinking about going into teaching, so i'm always like "TELL ME ALL ABOUT IT!" whenever i meet a teacher. haha
When i saw your picture i was going to give you a high five for a great snow!
But then I kept reading [and remembered that my mom didn't mention snow, just ice] and I must take the high five back:) So jealous of your snow day even without actual snow!
Haefner actually didn't get a Holiday card...
