Week 3 and I'm alive!

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! Week 3 has been SO much easier than Week 2! Thanks to all of your comments, suggestions, and less of the jog then walk intervals, I have really enjoyed this week. Running for 3 minutes seemed impossible a couple of weeks ago and here I am! Of course, looking forward to the next week scares me but I don't need to think about that until next Tuesday. We have one more run on Sunday for Week 3 and then time to move on!On Saturday, Mike and I will be heading to Fleet Feet for some new shoes. I have no clue what we are looking for but I am sure that experts there can put us in some good shoes (although my legs have not hurt at all this week). After this weekend, we will be 1/3 done with this training! YAHOO!Oh...also, while we are on the subject of running, I have a couple more questions. It is starting to get colder in the mornings. This morning it was in the upper 40s/low 50s. Are there special gloves, hats, jackets, etc. to wear? I don't really want to drop too much money at the running store if I can just get the normal stuff at Target. Thanks!!!

I am looking forward to this weekend. I am dropping off calligraphy to a client, enjoying dinner with friends, going with Mike to photograph some adorable kiddos at Faust Park, getting running shoes, going to a housewarming party, and relaxing on Sunday by getting work done for my Masters classes. Can't wait!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

I need to figure out some more cold weather running clothes too. I've been wearing a long sleeve zip-up Under Armour shirt and shorts this week...but it's gonna get to cold for that shortly. Hopefully Mary will chime in b/c I know loves running in the cooler weather. And Julia - because you know it's coooold up there :)

No advice on the cold-weather wear, but have fun this weekend! Sounds like it's jam-packed. :)

I trained for my marathon during the winter, so I have lots of winter running gear. The important thing is to get gloves and things made from wicking material. I have this hat/scarf/ninja mask thingy that I love (it's basically a stretchy black tube that can be an ear wrap, hat, neck scarf, and can even be worn on your head and over your mouth at the same time) and some running gloves, plus lots of long-sleeved wicking tops, under armour, wicking socks, wicking shorts to wear under your running pants (trust me, your ass will get cold)...the most important part is layering so you can shed pieces as you warm up. :)

get those cheap .99 cent gloves. the stretchy kind you wore in grade school. a few pairs, they are awesome, and hold up well in the wash. also, layer a long sleeve over a tank. i think you will get hot when you increase your running time. that way you can take off layers. glad to see your still going!
