My thoughtful husband

Whenever I describe Mike, I always use the word thoughtful. He has always amazed me in how he is concerned about others before himself. Although I would like to say that I am a very thoughtful person, he takes the cake on this one.

Tonight, after picking up our Christmas tree, we decided to run by Home Depot and grab a hotdog (his favorite thing to do). As we were pulling into the lot, Mike noticed a man standing on the corner holding a "Will Work For Food" sign. When I see people like this, I feel sad but drive on. Honestly, tonight it was getting dark and I didn't even see the man standing on the corner. As we rounded the corner, Mike suggested that we buy the man a hotdog too.

Of course, we did and I loaded it up with some ketchup (which I was nervous about because what if he didn't like ketchup. Mike says that everyone like ketchup on a hotdog). We pulled into a nearby parking lot and Mike ran across the street and intersection and handed the hotdog to the man. I watched with tears in my eyes and the man thanked Mike for the food. Of course, the sentimental moment was ruined with Mike walked backwards into the street and was almost hit by a car. Even the needy man told him to watch out and be careful!

Although it was a small gesture, it was a random act of kindness for sure. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful and thoughtful husband. I hope that I can be more like him in this way.
