I want a puppy!
I know we are going to get a dog in the summer but I just want one now! Mike and I have been talking about what kind of dog we want and usually end that conversation with an disagreement. Some days, I don't think we will ever get a dog because we can't agree.
When I went to Vegas a few months ago for my bachelorette party, I spent a day with some family that live there. They had the most adorable dog that I had ever seen. At first, I thought she was kind of ugly...kind of looking like a dinosaur. But the more time I spent with her, the most adorable she was and I started to fall in love! I came home and told Mike and I wanted a BOXER. Here is Stella!!!
I told Mike about my love for this doggie but he told me that boxers were too hyper (I don't think that he actually knew that though).
Fast forward 3 months....Mike has a friend at work that keeps bringing in her boxer puppy. I think Mike has fallen in love. Who can't resist a puppy! LOOK AT THAT FACE!
Last night, Mike and I talked in the car and I think that we are going to look into getting a boxer this summer! I started to look up pictures and found the cutest one! OHHHHHHH....
I love their expressive faces and eyebrows! SO CUTE! St. Louis readers...do you know anything about Boxer Rescues or places that sell/adopt boxers? It is time to start researching!!!
Aww, I love boxers! If you check out petfinder.com, you can search by breed (as well as age and gender), so I would try that!

I just hung out with a boxer last night. He was my favorite of the three dogs. And he wasn't hyper at all. I don't think that had to do with the fact that he was 10 years old, do you?
Please try to get a rescue! There are so many out there that need homes. And I will continue to put my pitch in for adult dogs. You know what you're getting, many are already house- and crate-trained, and you don't have to deal with the puppy madness:)
i grew up w/ a boxer and loved her dearly. i really want to get another one (some day). mr. B doesn't want a boxer. but i'm working on him too.
Boxers are GREAT dogs! But they are high energy (not necessarily "hyper" but they do need a lot of exercise...maybe a fenced yard or a dog park membership)?
Hope you're able to find the boxer of your dreams...this is a rescue group in the St. Louis area...maybe you'd even like to volunteer with them first to get a good understanding of the breed?

Boxers are wonderful dogs and very kid friendly. And they are "hyper" until about the age of 4. They need a lot of exercise and room, so they aren't an apartment or small yard dog.
Boxers tend to suffer from heart failure and hip problems. Do not get a white boxer as they seem to be deaf.
