Let's start at the very beginning...

a very good place to start. (Anyone else singing along with me? Name that tune.)

On Sunday, September 12, I woke up and took a pregnancy test. I had taken test for the 3 days before and each day, I got a big fat negative. But I knew that the magic day after ovulation was 12 and September 12 was the day. I pulled out my cheapo dollar store test and got a faint line. Mike was still sleeping so I snuck out of the house and ran to the nearby Walgreens. I returned about 10 minutes later with 2 different kind of tests. It was confirmed...yes, I'm pregnant!!!I woke up Mike to share the exciting news and even recorded it. Now, if I could only figure out how to post the video, that would be fun. I placed the pregnancy tests on a onesie that I had from Target that said "Daddy's caddy in training"). Mike thought that I was showing it to him because it was a gift for our pregnant friends. Then he realized there were positive pregnancy tests on top and it all sunk in. We hugged, we cried, and of course, we took pictures!!! (Mike has better photos but I don't know how to access them and turn them into jpegs on his computer.) The day before, we ran 8 miles in preparation for the Lewis and Clark Half-Marathon. (Do you remember that we were training?) We ended up not running the race.

Yes, we were trying. We got pregnant on our 3rd try (the first month that I quit using OPKs).

I was feeling some pregnancy symptoms at the time that continued throughout first trimester. Very sore chest and frequent night bathroom trips top the list. Luckily, I made it through first trimester without throwing up. I felt nauseous just a few times...usually when I had an empty tummy.

Nothing too much to mention from first trimester...it was pretty wonderful and uneventful. I felt pretty good, didn't gain any weight, and wasn't really showing (just some bloat here and there). At 12 weeks (see pic below), I was able to see a bit of a tummy but it was unfortunately gone in the 13 and 14 week pictures.

Next post will fast forward to 2nd trimester....where all of the "fun" really began.

yay!! I love it. I think Mike should post his (most likely) awesome pictures for you because there can't be TOO much documentation of this amazing time! I get butterflies just thinking about 'finding out' because it's incredible.
