I love St. Louis!

I really love this city. After high school, so many people wanted to get away and live in big cities like New York and Chicago. I have felt perfectly content in this city and I am now finally becoming a part of all of the wonderful events around town.

For the first time this year, we participated in the Downtown Restaurant Week. It was a great way to try different restaurants in St. Louis for a reasonable price. We went to Mike Shannons this year and I would like to try something different next year.

Today, we went down to Mike's church for the annual Greekfest. It was our 3rd time going to the Fest together (we had to skip last year's because it was the weekend of our wedding). I think this will become a tradition for years to come.

This month, I am looking forward to going to my first Balloon Glow. I found these pictures online and can't wait to take some of my own in a couple of weeks. It will be a busy weekend because the next day, we will be doing our best to try all of Schlafly's 40 beers at Hop in the City. This will be our 3rd time attending this event as well and let me tell you...this is a blast! I can't wait to drink the Hard Cider. My favorite!!!

I think next weekend, we will do the 10 mile bike ride for Kirkwood's Green Tree Festival. I haven't signed up...I need to do that now.

There are so many fun things that go on in this wonderful city and I want to participate in more of them. What are your "must do" St. Louis activities or events?

i'll admit i'm one of those people who fled the scene for a more "exciting" city after college. but, not long after being in philly did i start to miss the midwest and stl in particular. you'd be hard-pressed to find a better city to raise a family, in my opinion.

my must-dos around the city include the SLAM, zoo, grant's farm, and exploring the great parks (forest, carondelet, tower grove, etc).

and i forgot all about the schlafly event, i may have to check that out...

I do like this city, but I have a huge traveling heart, so I need to get out and move around. I may end up back here, I may not, but my FI and I love the mountains and wine country, so we may end up there.

I do agree that STL has a lot of great things to offer, including one of the only free zoos in the U.S. and some other great finds (plus the greatest fans in baseball). My heart will always miss the Balloon Glow, Ted Drewe's, Toasted Ravioli, the Cardinals and a long laundry list of other things. In the end, my heart will always belong to STL no matter where I go.

I've never seen that aerial shot-wow. It looks like maybe we'll be running into you guys sometime this month!

I don't know if you saw on my blog, but I responded to your question about Mia. The glow is absolutely packed and there are fireworks, so we won't be bringing Levi. If you think she can handle it, though, go for it!

I totally wanted to go to Greek Fest. How was it? I think it's a must for next year!

We have an 18 mo. old and just took him to the zoo for the first time. I forgot how awesome the STL Zoo is!

I may be running into you guys next weekend. Trent (the guy from San Diego/Tulsa) is coming in for my birthday and our current plans are to hit up the Balloon Glow and Hops in the City :)
