Talkers vs. Walkers
I am a talker. There...I said it. I talk a big talk...but I don't walk the walk. I want things to magically happen or appear in my life. They don't.
I WANT to lose weight.
I WANT to learn more about photography.
I WANT to run a 5K.
Do I WANT to put work into any of these things? Nope. I would just like them to happen...sooner than later, please.
But Mike...he is a walker. A do-er if you will.
He WANTS shelves and a new work station in the garage. So...he makes them.
(before)(after)
He WANTS to tile the sunroom. So...he wakes up early and does it.

He even had a little admirer ;)
He WANTS to be a good photographer. So...he goes to Borders and gets how-to books. He conducts photo shoots of the dogs at his work. (You need to click these pictures to experience the full cuteness of these pups!)

(I am trying to talk him into making a photo blog. You should see the pictures he took of our friends wedding! Wait, you will see them...next post.)
I have decided that I need to be more of a walker and less of a talker. 5K...here I come (I hope!).
I'm the same as you Lauren--I have all these things I want to do and I get all excited and look into them but I rarely follow through. That is something I am really working on right now.
PS-The pic of Mia looking out the window at Mike working is so freaking cute I can't stand it!
The tile looks great! DH and I have a similar dynamic, but I'm the walker and he's the talker. I figure we balance each other out. :)
I want to do another 5K and actually run the whole thing. We'll see how that goes...
Let me know if you need/want a kirkwood running buddy!
Wies - I'll run a 5K with you! I never have and I hate running, but I'll do it if you will!
I definately know what you mean! I just started the couch to 5k program and I love it! I am on week 4 and plan to run the Pumpin Brew run in Tower Grove park! I have never been a runner before but this program works! Also, there are podcasts online so you can download them so you don't have to look at your watch to know when to walk and run!
girl, i so know what you're saying. good luck in getting the ball rolling on all your goals. once you get started, i know you can accomplish whatever you put your mind to!
and you have such a talented hubby. his photography skills are amazing, especially for being a beginner. you should definitely encourage him to start a photography blog, even if just for a few fun updates each month.
I love this post, because it's true for all of us at some point in our lives. And, it proves just how fantastic your hubby is :).
My husband is more of a walker than I am. It takes me longer to get motivated than it does for him.
You are too cute! Live it up girl, I wish my husband was a walker....sadly, the honey-do list just keeps growing.
Wow -- Mike is so awesome! That tile is great and I LOVE the picture of Mia watching.
SUCH gorgeous pictures! Wish you guys were closer so I could have a photo shoot with Miss Lola!
Also, what I have found with the whole running thing is that I am 100% unmotivated and will find every excuse not to get out and run until I actually register for something. Once I have signed myself up for something it gives that little extra "reason" to go for that run (as much as it sucks).
Good luck!
I saw the pics on FB and was going to say something about how I wish Nate was as good with our camera as Mike....it would have been nice to get pics like that when I was a bridesmaid in a wedding!
Also, Mia is the cutest dog of the bunch and that's saying a lot since the first one bears a strong resemblance to a Cockapoo:)
Just found your blog and thought I'd say hi to a fellow STL blogger!
Love that tile! Awesome husband for doing that!!!
:>)
