Getting old(er)

As the big 3-0 gets closer and closer, the more gray hairs I'm finding. Seriously, ever single day I find more!  It all started when I was pregnant with Ethan and I just pulled the few random strands.  Well, I guess the old wives' tale is right that they grow back with 7 others because I'm freaking going gray.  My hair stylist (I use that term lightly as I go to her once a year to cut my hair) said that I don't need to start professionally dying it yet and she recommended finding a box that works.  I've never had to color my hair and it just seems like a pretty depressing milestone.  Oh, and the flyaways and hair loss are out of control.  I probably need something to put on my hair to protect it from the heat.  Hum...

I am getting older and I need to start taking better care of my skin, too.  I am embarrassed to admit this.  Gulp.  I go to bed each night without taking my makeup off from the day.  I wash my face in the shower with Cetaphil and put Cetaphil moisturizer on after showers and that's it.  How horrible is that?!  No scrubs.  No SPF.  No eye cream.  No wrinkle-preventer.  OYE.

Suggest your favorite hair and skin products.  I figure any changes I can make in these areas is better than nothing!  THANKS!  Oh...and "state of the body" come up next.

Girl, I've been finding grays for a few years now and ALSO have been plucking them! I turn thirty IN TWO DAYS and it's quite depressing. :)

I also don't take off my makeup before bed, and ALSO use Cetaphil face wash in the shower in the mornings, and then use Cetaphil face moisturizer after the shower.

Face hair products for me - I use an expensive sulphate-free shampoo & conditioner (from Schwarzkopf) but only because I have red dye in my hair, and you need a good shampoo/conditioner to prevent fast fading.. that doesn't apply to you, but I do really like those. I then have a Pantene hairspray that I love to help control my fly-aways. I use the CHI heat protection spray whenever I flatiron my hair (this is what I have and I ADORE it: http://www.amazon.com/InfraShine-Ceramic-Flat-Iron-1/dp/B001B8L86A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1357848615&sr=8-1&keywords=infrashine+flat+iron) and this is my ceramic dryer that I have, which dries my entire head in FIVE MINUTES: http://www.sallybeauty.com/nano-silver-hairdryer/TCNCE02,default,pd.html?cm_vc=SEARCH My old dryer would take nearly 20 minutes and leave tons of fly-aways, so this new ceramic hair dryer is my loooove. Because I have dyed hair, I've been trying to wash it only every other day, and on the days I don't wash I use this dry shampoo: http://www.sallybeauty.com/dry-shampoo/SBS-140250,default,pd.html?cm_vc=SEARCH

I don't use any leave-in conditioners, shine serums, etc on my hair. For my face, I'm pretty strictly a Cetaphil person. As for makeup, it's MAC, e.l.f. from Target (SO CHEAP), and Urban Decay.

I only feel like putting body lotion on every other couple of days, and I just use a Eucerin lotion for extremely dry skin. That's about it for me. :)

I use CHI Iron Guard to protect my hair from heat. =) I'm like you and pretty lax with my skin care though so you're not alone!

Cetaphil girl here, too. Then Neutrogena spf 15 moisturizer. I turned 30 last year (I'll be 31 on Jan. 15!) and that's when I started using eye cream - Oil of Olay Regenerist, I think? I don't know, I've only had one little bottle and use it sparingly - that stuff is not cheap!

But wanted to say I feel your pain on the gray hairs - I am finding more and more every day, and plucking isn't doing the trick too well anymore. I've never dyed my hair before - but I'm thinking I'll have to bite the bullet very soon!

I also don't take of my makeup or use anything on my face. I just turned 40 and luckily i don't really have any wrinkles or anything. I've been coloring my hair with a box for years now just cause i don't like my real color. Getting old sucks!

Use a cotton ball with vaseline on it to take your makeup off at night. You don't even have to wash your face. :-)
