Found Dog!

My friend, Kate, found a doggie by her house and asked if I could post his picture and info and see if anyone knew anything about this guy. She found him Soulard/Benton Park area and I know a lot of you girls live down in the area. He doesn't have a chip and Stray Rescue is full. She's going to hang onto him for a little while but if we can't find his owner or a new home, we will have to go to Humane Society.
LOCATION: Found near the intersection of Lynch and Salena around 6:00 pm on Monday March 29th.

DOG INFO: The dog appears to be an American Bulldog (maybe a mix) and is about 70 to 80 pounds. He is white with brown markings. He has a very sweet demeanor, loves other dogs, and appears to be a little timid around men.

PLEASE CALL: Peter @ 636-346-5285 or Kate @314-537-6225

Oh no! I just tweeted with a link to this post - I hope he finds his way back home... If we weren't bursting at the seams I would offer to hold him for a few extra days to hopefully find his owners. Thanks for sharing.

Lauren, please don't let her take him to the humane society. Stray Rescue is NOT the only no-kill shelter in the area. Call Hope Rescues or google no-kill shelters in MO/IL. He has little hope of making it out of the humane society alive. :(

It was so nice of her to take him in...her kindness will be shortlived if he winds up at the HS. I hope someone claims him so that isn't even an issue.

I've forwarded this on to another pet rescue foundation, Gateway Pet Guardians. Hopefully they can find someone to help!

Oh poor baby! I'm gonne tweet this and hoe that he find a home. PLEASE don't let her take him to the HS. If she can't keep him, I'd be open to fostering for a while until I could find an opening in a no kill shelter.

I'm the friend with the dog! Thanks so much for all of your help! He's a big sweetie, and I'd love to keep him, but with 2 of my own in a condo, its getting tough! I've already spoken to Stray Rescue, Open Door, Hope Resuces, and a few Pit/Bully Dog rescues in IL. So far no one is able to take him.

Hope Resuces suggested I start looking for a new permanent home, but I feel terrible giving up on his owners after only a few days. Does anyone have an opinion on this? I'm sure the reality is that they abandoned him, but I'm to attached to him to believe it....Advice???

Jenn- If you are serious about fostering, Stray Rescue will sponsor him (i.e. handle his food and medical expenses, etc). They will also post him to their website in hopes of getting him adopted quickly...unless you fall in love with him!

Please cotact me at the info above if you are serious! I can keep him until Saturday at the latest, then head out of town for the holiday.

Thank you!!!!
